Tue, October 15, 2019 9:30 AM - Tue, October 15, 2019 12:30 PM at Nisbet Building, Suite 320, Michigan State University

You are invited to join us at our SSDA special intermediate level workshop: Social Media Mining in R: Collecting and Analyzing Twitter Data, which will be led by Caleb Lucas, our SSDA Associate, from the Department of Political Science in the College of Social Science at MSU.

This workshop will focus on the collection and storage of Twitter data. It will cover basic social media mining, including managing ‘big data’ and issues related to empirical analysis. We will work directly with the Twitter API and collect/clean/visualize/analyze tweets during the workshop. No prior experience/knowledge is necessary beyond being comfortable with basic R programming.

Please bring your laptop with R installed.  Instructions for installation of packages will be provided before the workshop.
